Since the cost doesn't scale based on any usage number - and since the contract doesn't seem to differentiate any pricing from year 1 through year 5 - I can't help but feel like something is off here. We do a lot of copies/prints - but if another goal of Papercut is to reduce that number - and also cut way back on the amount of color prints/copies - well, then the amount of pages needed to be printed to offset it gets even higher - at as little as $0.009 per B&W page. And that's only for color and only from our most expensive cost-per-page units. Math isn't my strong point, but best I can tell is that we'd have to shave off about 15,000 color prints - per month - to offset the cost. We're paying at most roughly ~$0.06 per color print. But at $900 a month, I imagine that'd be a whole lot of prints/copies to offset that expense. Our actual MFPs and supplies are a whole separate cost.Īt the end of the day, the pitch is likely that Papercut allows us to save money by monitoring/restricting prints/copies.

We only got as far as comparing actual devices ,lease terms, and service offerings. It integrates seamlessly with Nexudus to track the printing usage of all our coworking. We did evaluate a different MPS - but didn't get into the specifics of Papercut pricing before we'd already decided on not going with them. PaperCut MF works so well that we rarely have to make any changes. I know it may vary widely by region or useage case - but I was hoping someone could give me some comparative. I'm looking at around an extra $900 a month for the hardware (card readers,cables ,etc) and software to enable Papercut across our fleet for the duration of our lease (5 year). We're refreshing out fleet of devices (Printers, MFPs) from our Managed Print Service provider. We are a Windows shop with mostly Chromebooks in the Instructional department. We're looking at adding Papercut PFD to our campus.
